AAF Project (07/25 – 09/02/2023)
Project objectives:
Promote digital transformation in higher education: The official name of the project is “Vietnam-Australia partnership for digital transformation in higher education”. The core objective is to enhance capacity and promote the application of digital technology in management and teaching systems at Vietnamese universities.
Capacity development for staff (Fellows): Organize an exchange and practical training program for 15 senior staff and lecturers (Fellows) from Vietnam to study and work in Australia.
Strengthen bilateral cooperation: Build a sustainable strategic partnership between the leading Australian agency (Deakin University) and educational agencies and organizations in Vietnam.
Project collaboration benefits
Comprehensive financial support: The project is funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Deakin University has transferred an amount of 71,103 AUD for Phu Xuan University to manage, covering all costs for airfare, health/travel insurance, and daily living expenses for participating staff.
Expand domestic and international networking: The project not only connects Vietnam with Australia but also creates opportunities for close collaboration among 5 major educational and technology organizations in Vietnam, including: Phu Xuan University (PXU), Hanoi University (HANU), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), BK-Holdings Startup Ecosystem (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUTE).
Enhance practical professional capacity: Participating fellows have direct access to advanced educational models and modern digital transformation technologies from Deakin University, which they can apply and disseminate back to their working units in Vietnam.
DigiDoi Project (Framework 2023 – 2025/2026):
Project content:
+ An international cooperation project (with partners from the United Kingdom and Vietnam) on "Building a Roadmap and Strategy for Digital Transformation in Higher Education" and "Training and advising on change management when applying digital transformation for leaders and staff of universities and colleges in Vietnam".
+ Support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs): The core objective is to assist women-owned SMEs in mountainous regions of Vietnam.
+ Promote digital transformation: Support these enterprises in accessing and applying digital technology solutions in their actual operations.
+ Enhance operational capacity: Help enterprises optimize operational efficiency, expand market reach, and strengthen resilience to fluctuations.
+ Expand the digital ecosystem: This project is a continuation aimed at scaling up the previous original project ("The Digi:Đổi Consortium - developing a sustainable digital ecosystem for higher education in Vietnam").
Project benefits:
Direct financial resources: The Institute for Partnership and Development (IPD) – Phu Xuan University received an additional grant of £22,305 from the fund provided by the British Council for the coordinating unit (LJMU) to carry out activities.
Sustainable international cooperation: Strengthen the strategic relationship between Liverpool John Moores University (UK) and Phu Xuan University (Vietnam) in knowledge transfer and technology application to the community.
Protection and sharing of intellectual property (IPR): The agreement clearly stipulates intellectual property rights; in which the parties retain rights to existing intellectual property (Background IP) and jointly own/fairly exploit the research results and joint solutions created during the project (Joint Results).
Create real social impact: The project provides direct economic value to vulnerable groups (women-owned businesses in remote areas), contributing to gender equality and regional economic development in Vietnam.
STRIVE Project (2024 – 2027)
Project objectives:
Enhance system capacity: Build and develop administrative, educational, and operational capacity for participating organizations.
Promote transformation and standardization: Provide in-depth capacity frameworks to improve management and training quality according to international standards (especially those of the European Union).
Project benefits:
Access to international resources: Directly benefit from financial support from the European Union (EACEA) to develop knowledge and skill infrastructure.
Learn from European experiences: Be accompanied and receive advanced models from experienced partners such as Consorzio Interuniversitario Almalaurea, Universidade de Évora, and Università degli Studi della Tuscia.
Expand networking: Create sustainable academic and administrative connections between public universities, private universities, and state management academies domestically and internationally.
