INTRODUCTION TO THE FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT
In the context of artificial intelligence reshaping how businesses operate, compete, and create value, business education cannot be limited to traditional management theories. Today's Vietnamese students need to be equipped with modern business thinking, data analysis capabilities, AI application skills, market understanding, finance, policy, operations, and human resources knowledge, to work, lead, and innovate in a rapidly changing world.
The Faculty of Business and Management is established with the goal of training a new generation of business professionals for Vietnam: practical, flexible, technologically competent, globally minded, and capable of making a real impact on businesses and society. The school offers diverse training orientations, including Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Business Analytics, Industrial Management, Service and Tourism Management, Public Policy, and Economics. These foundational fields help students understand how the economy operates, how businesses grow, how markets change, and how management decisions can create sustainable value.
A key differentiator of the Faculty of Business and Management is the training program designed for the AI era. From the first year, students will learn foundational courses on AI and business alongside students from other faculties, thereby forming interdisciplinary thinking, technology usage skills, and problem-solving approaches from multiple perspectives. AI is not just a technical tool; in business, AI is becoming a core competency for customer analysis, operational optimization, financial management, marketing strategy design, market forecasting, policy building, and management decision-making. Therefore, students will not only “know about business” but also understand how to use technology and data to solve real business problems.
The core values that the Faculty of Business and Management offers to students lie in three points. First, the curriculum is linked to business practice through case studies, applied projects, real-world problems, and the involvement of industry experts. Second, students develop foundational competencies for various career paths: working in businesses, financial organizations, government agencies, consulting firms, service sectors, tourism, manufacturing and operations, business data analysis, and entrepreneurship. Third, the school emphasizes building thinking competencies: strategic thinking, critical thinking, systems thinking, customer thinking, and leadership thinking. These competencies help students adapt and develop long-term, even as technology and markets continuously change.
With a focus on a close connection between training and market practice, the Faculty of Business and Management will incorporate not only academic knowledge but also practical perspectives from strategy, management consulting, business transformation, business operations, and executive decision-making into the curriculum. The school aims to build a network connecting with businesses, experts, managers, and real projects, thereby helping students gain a clearer understanding of careers, develop professional competencies, expand market thinking, and build confidence before entering a professional working environment.
After graduation, students are expected to become young professionals with solid expertise, understanding technology, possessing analytical and problem-solving skills, knowing how to work with data, having communication and teamwork abilities, ethical standards, and a spirit of innovation. More importantly, they will be prepared to become managers, analysts, marketers, financial specialists, policy planners, entrepreneurs, or future leaders who can contribute positively to Vietnamese businesses and the country's development in the AI era.
