The Chinese language program at Phu Xuan University (PXU) features the highest proportion of native Chinese/Taiwanese teachers involved in teaching. The percentage of native instructors increases from 25% in the first year to 75% in the final year to ensure students can communicate fluently and understand the culture and business practices of Chinese-speaking countries. The university also maintains small class sizes to ensure the quality of skill learning in specialized subjects.

Additionally, the new curriculum for the Chinese Language program has been improved with a focus on application, using the standards of the HSK certification as a foundational basis for the language.

What can a Bachelor's Degree in Chinese Language do? Where?

Graduates with a Bachelor's Degree in Chinese Language can work in translation/interpretation, language research, tourism, language teaching, or in cultural, commercial, and import-export agencies, or as language assistants.

Who can study Chinese Language?

The language field does not require talent in natural sciences or technical subjects. To pursue a degree in Chinese Language, in addition to a passion for the field, the following qualities/traits will benefit students: diligence, patience, communication skills, and no deficiencies in pronunciation.

The main enrollment period for the regular university programs at Phu Xuan University (PXU) begins after the September 2nd holiday each year. New students start enrolling and participate in an “orientation week” to familiarize themselves with the new learning environment, teachers, the school, fellow classmates, and upperclassmen.

Next, new students will participate in a “military semester” lasting 3 weeks. This is an important time for new students to adapt to collective living, build cooperative habits and team spirit, while also obtaining the GD–ANQP certificate, which is a mandatory requirement for graduation.

In the “Introduction to Profession” semester, students will learn and become familiar with the methods and tools of specialized study at Phu Xuan University (PXU) and the foundational knowledge of the Chinese Language field, preparing for the next stage.

This is the semester where students will study in a practical business environment. In addition to accumulating 15 specialized credits, students will become acquainted with the practical job requirements and be guided by professionals currently working in the field.

The OJT semester is also the time for students to choose and begin preparing for their graduation thesis with topics based on practical activities at the OJT host company.

This is the time for students to consolidate all the knowledge and skills they have accumulated to complete their graduation thesis. Since 2019, 100% of students at Phu Xuan University (PXU) will conduct their graduation thesis and defend it before the university's thesis council. With the graduation thesis, students accumulate 10 specialized credits.
