Information Technology
Studying Information Technology at Phu Xuan University (PXU) is the only place that guarantees job placement for 100% of students. Unlike other universities that only collaborate with businesses, major Information Technology companies are located right on campus, making it easier for students to access.
The curriculum also includes a semester taught directly by business leaders. Many Information Technology students from other universities also come to PXU to take short courses to enhance their job prospects. The university is also the only institution to date that has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the People's Committee of TT-Hue Province to provide 10,000 Information Technology personnel in the period from 2020 to 2030, turning Hue into a center for Information Technology in the region.
The Information Technology program, regular university system, at Phu Xuan University (PXU) trains graduates to work in specialized fields such as: software technology, systems engineering, data management, web application development, mobile application development, game development, IoT application development, system analysis,… or to become lecturers/teachers in Information Technology.
What do Information Technology graduates do? Where do they work?
Information Technology is a field with a very high demand for human resources not only in Vietnam but also in developed countries such as Japan, the USA, Australia, and countries in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand). Information Technology companies from Japan or Vietnam that serve the Japanese/American markets have begun to implement plans to open branches in Hue.
Information Technology graduates can also work in various roles in different organizations such as: technology companies, financial-banking institutions, business units, government agencies, schools,…
Who can study Information Technology?
Many parents and students often believe that studying Information Technology is very difficult and requires strong math skills,… this leads to many students missing the opportunity to pursue a suitable career with a 100% job placement rate and a salary approximately 20% higher than the average upon graduation and 50% higher after about 12–18 months of working.
Orientation Week and Military Semester
The main enrollment period for regular university programs at Phu Xuan University (PXU) begins after the September 2nd holiday each year. New students start to enroll and participate in an “orientation week” to familiarize themselves with the new learning environment, teachers, the university, peers, and upperclassmen.
Following this, new students will participate in a “Military Semester” lasting 3 weeks. This is an important time for new students to adapt to collective living, build cooperation habits and team spirit, while also obtaining the GD AN-QP certificate, which is a mandatory requirement for the bachelor's degree.
